Nicole's surgery

Nicole had surgery to remove a non-ossifying fibroma from her right fibula on Tuesday. The surgery was a success. The doctor said the bone was weaker than expected. Consequently, Nicole is not to put pressure on it for four weeks. The doctor originally sent us home with crutches but later agreed to Nicole's use of a wheelchair (which will help her get around without falling). At the end of the four weeks, a new x-ray will be taken and we will receive further instruction. It is expected that Nicole will wear a boot/brace for three to four months.

Praises: We thank the Lord for taking Nicole through the surgery successfully. We are thankful for the use of a wheelchair for the four weeks. We are thankful that God directed us to go ahead with the surgery, especially since the bone was weaker than expected. We are thankful for the countless prayers of our family and brothers & sisters in Christ. We are thankful that Jane's parents and several of our church friends could be with us at the hospital on the day of the surgery.

Prayer Requests: Pray for Nicole's recovery. Pray that the donor tissue that replaced the fibroma will graft successfully.
